Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State and President of the Asogli Traditional Area, has lauded President John Dramani Mahama for his decisive actions in combating corruption and recovering stolen public resources. The praise comes in light of the government's new initiative, Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), aimed at reclaiming misappropriated state assets.

Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL): A Bold Step Against Corruption
The ORAL initiative has been a game-changer in the fight against corruption, with a committee tasked with investigating allegations of corruption and verifying information on stolen state properties. Currently, the committee is processing over 700 public petitions, highlighting the widespread concern about mismanagement and misuse of public resources.
Speaking during President Mahama’s ‘Thank You Tour’ in the Volta Region on Friday, January 24, Togbe Afede XIV expressed unwavering support for the initiative.
“ORAL was great news for all of us. It’s bad enough to suffer, but it’s worse to know that you are suffering because a few people think they deserve all that the state has to offer. We fully support your efforts to recover everything that was lost—funds, lands, buildings, and more,” he stated.
Togbe Afede also applauded President Mahama’s stance on accountability, particularly the directive for appointees to declare their assets.
“Your Excellency, you have our fullest support. We’re excited that you’ve decided to make corruption unattractive, and we hope your appointees heed your call,” he added.
Togbe Afede XIV commended President Mahama’s Reset Agenda, which prioritizes governance reform and transparency. He described the initiative as a bold and transformative approach that resonates with Ghanaians.
“Ghanaians have welcomed your reset agenda, a brave fight against corruption… Your vision for governance and accountability is moving at the speed of light,” he remarked.
In addition to anti-corruption measures, Togbe Afede praised the government’s vision for a 24-hour economy, which seeks to maximize productivity and foster economic growth. He called the proposed initiatives forward-thinking and transformative, capable of driving Ghana toward sustainable development.
President Mahama’s ORAL initiative and reset agenda represent a critical pivot in Ghana’s governance, addressing long-standing issues of corruption and inefficiency. With widespread public and traditional support, these measures could significantly impact the country’s political and economic landscape.
