The Civil Service (Ministries) Instrument, 2025, officially signed on January 9, 2025, was issued under the powers conferred by Section 11(3) of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (P.N.D.C.L. 327). This reform initiative has reduced the number of ministries from 30 to 23, emphasizing priorities like sustainability, technological innovation, and youth empowerment.


Among the noteworthy changes is the transformation of the Ministry of Energy into the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition. This change reflects a heightened focus on renewable energy and environmental preservation, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change.
