President Nana Akufo-Addo has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient transition of power to President-elect John Dramani Mahama. He emphasized that the process would be conducted in a way that prioritizes the welfare of the Ghanaian people.

Speaking ahead of a meeting at Jubilee House on Wednesday, the President highlighted the importance of a seamless handover.
"This meeting is to assure him of my full support and that of my government in facilitating the transition process to ensure the new administration takes off under the best conditions," Akufo-Addo stated.
President-elect Mahama expressed gratitude for the cooperation and described the preliminary discussions as cordial and encouraging.
“We had a very productive meeting. The President’s assurance of collaboration is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to working together in the interest of Ghana,” Mahama noted.
Mahama also underscored the need for ongoing communication even beyond the transition period, emphasizing its importance in strengthening Ghana's democratic governance.
On Tuesday, Mahama unveiled a 10-member transition team, co-chaired by former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, to oversee the handover process. President Akufo-Addo also appointed representatives from his administration to join the team, as stipulated by the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845).
The collaborative efforts between the outgoing and incoming administrations aim to foster unity, ensure stability, and uphold Ghana’s democratic principles during this critical period.
